Directors Cut Edition ???

WHEN ???

Best game on Mac

This is the best game I’ve played on a Mac. I played it the whole way through and it was worth it. I can’t wait for the next Deus Ex game….just hope that Mac doesn’t wait too long to get it!

Ohh NOO!

I LOVE this Game. It’s been a MAJOR Fav for almost a year and then I BLEW it by installing the Sierra OS Upgrade and now .. it won’t WORK. Actually .. it does, but I can’t use my mouse to maneuver and the Right Click button won’t FIRE. Anybody … ?

Game won’t even start!

I’m sure this game is great and fun and engaging. Thing is, I wouldn’t know because it won’t even load! When I click the icon to open it I immediately get an error message. It’d be so awesome if this could get fixed.

Awesome game but overpriced in the Mac App Store

8/10 two points deducted because of the extreme (read, extreme) price difference between the Mac App Store version and the Steam version (like, 50 bucks when I bought it, vs 4.99 on Steam) and the lack of ability to revisit levels unless you create different saves. I got through the whole game only to discover there was no point to hoarding the weapons and doing all the work. Oh well, still worth the time and kind of worth the money, though I wish Id bought it on steam.

Constantly crashes

I have a brand new 2012 Mac Mini and this game has been constantly crashing. Im three-quarters done now and it wont let me get any further.

Stability is horrible

This game worked perfectly with my i7 mac mini when I first purchased it. Now it will not even open? I want my $40.00 back.

A very good and immersive experience!

My Machine; 27" iMac 3.4 GHZ Intel i7 8 GB RAM Mountain Lion This was my frit experience with the Deus EX franchise and I was not disappointed! Very immersive graphics pulls you right in and keeps you entertained all the way to the end of the game. I highly recommend this game! D.

Love not Enough

Amazing.. My only wish is if it was longer and longer ! =) Awesome work!

This is a pretty great game

First off, the replay value is pretty stellar with the rising difficulty levels. This is my first experience with any Deus Ex game, and I was completely satisfied. Secondly, if you enjoy games like Metal Gear Solid, youll be right at home. These are my favorite kinds of games, and in no way did this disappoint. I really dig the concept they used for attribute advancement. Pretty cool idea. Fairly legit storyline as well. There are a couple INCREDIBLY MINOR drawbacks that Id love to point out for the developers and the readers. 1. The AI is tough, but insanely predictable. Mixing some routes up would be nice and challenging 2. The levels are pretty cut and dry. Blocks, and rows is really all it is. Itd be nice to have some levels in a more open environment. 3. The bosses are really just a pain. This game shines during the normal, tactical espionage gameplay. The bosses are ridiculously hard to beat, and mostly because of their HP. Id absolutely LOVE to see some boss levels that required a more tactical and sneaky approach. You can basically get a bunch of Typhoon Ammo, and acquire a grenade launcher to burn right through them. Overall, this game still rocked my socks. Cheers to the developers!

What

After you pay $40 you get a message that says "by the way, there are known issuses with the mac and this game, were working on it, good luck." I would have thought this would be something to state prior to purchase. PS it works like crap on my computer constantly skipping and glitching. I meet the sys req.

An incredible peice of Software and Work of Art!!!

Ive been a Deus Ex Fan for years and have previousely played the first 2 games on PC. This was nothing short than a long awaited continuation and brilliant part of the story. I am SO impressed by the gameplay, the graphic design and script writing. This game has a LOT of intention put into it and is just beautifully done. The developers did their research and have included a lot of interpretive and current information on Nano-Tech, Bio-Tech, and Singularity theory. Excellent soundtrack! Very well done & highly recommended.

CRASHES NOW

So sad. Didnt play it for a few months, now with a vinalla system…crash right after the preferences. No longer realizes I have a monitor over 640x480. Yeah, cuz its 1991 again.

Does not work on 15" MBP Retina with Mountian Lion

$40 for this game and it doesnt work. First on my 13 MBP that barely met the min requirements. I have since upgraded to 15" MBP Retina with Mountian Lion. I have tried reinstalling the game twice now. I am well above the min requirements to play this game and everytime I try I get: "Deus Ex: Human Revolution quit unexpectedly. Click Reopen to open the application again. Click Report to see more detailed information and send a report to Apple." Cant believe I payed 40 bucks for a game that apparrently isnt being supported or updated anymore. Why is it is still doing in the app store?

Great Game!

I got it on a slightly above normal 2013 macbook pro and it worked great. Great game, good storyline, nothing to do outside of story but story is long and very engrossing. Great game, great graphics and a thought provoking action about the future.

Very good. But the download time is absurd.

Its only 16.66 GB. Why does it take literally two days to download.

The Best

I’ve tried other FPS games from the apple store, but I keep playing and replaying this one.

Blown away by how good this game was

I’d seen Deus Ex previously, but never taken the time to pick it up - what a mistake that was. This FPS is awesome. The graphics are good (not great), but the gameplay and the storyline are spectacular. This is not a game that’s finished in an afternoon, either; expect to spend about 40 hours playing. The only thing I’m disappointed in is that I didn’t take the time to play it earlier.

For anyone over 25, this is THE definition of an engaging game!

I’ve been a gamer since the early 1980’s. I have played all genres, on variously capable platforms, throughout the decades. I have written (simple) games, and worked in computer graphics in the 1990’s. That is, I know what I am doing; I have been around; and I can recognize genius when I see it. Deus Ex III (Human Revolution) is a singular pinnacle in mixing all of the fun aspects of games into one: Great graphics (still today), FPS-shooter elements, alternative path for non-FPS-players, great story with twists and turns, charater development and skills-building, and most of all, an expansive and NON-LINEAR style of gameplay. Explore levels completely, or only partially. Level maps are definitely non-linear, so it is up to you to enjoy as much or as little of the story, as it unfolds, as you wish. Your actions have long-term consequences upon the story-line. Changes to the environment, such as dead bodies, moved items, etc., are entirely persistent throughout the game. In its day, the original Deus Ex was similarly an eye-opening game-changer in providing the same complexity of interactivity as I described above. I skipped version #2, but #3 (Human revolution) is a prequel, and one of the most phenomenally well done prequels I have ever been exposed to. Gtraphics, gameplay, character development, and FPS-shooter style play (or not, if you prefer stealth, etc.) are all done extremely well. I was VERY lucky to pck this up for $15 during the holidays. It savored the thing so thoroughly, that it took me 6-10 weeks to complete. (I am no newbie to FPS run-and-gun, nor to games having puzzles.) This game was so entirely enjoyable that I took THAT LONG to complete it. Just like reading a great novel, I didn’t want it to end. Ine the end, it probably cost me $0.20 per hour of absolute enjoyment. So cheap (as it’s an old game), but oh so satisfying as an engaging excape and story-telling, all in one. Eidos (and Feral for the OS X port) — Thank you, thank you, thank you. If their is ever another installment, or perhaps a totally different story line with the same level of masterful creativity, gameplay, strolling-writing, and so on, PLEASE LET ME KNOW! I have been a game for 35+ years, and DEus Ex 3 (Human Revolution) ranks among the top five, if not the top, over that entire time span. Kudos, and thank you again!

Feral

Theres no need to review the game itself. Reviews are all over the Web, and the game is solidly built. (You can still pick nits, like the game-breaking pistol mod, the silliness of not being able to easily buy ammo, or the slightly railroading level design.) More importantly, Feral Interactive proves theyre one of the best Mac porters in the industry, with excellent performance and zero bugs on my 2010 MBP 15". However, the wait for updates is frustrating. I have the Steam version, and couldve been playing the Directors Cut version months ago. Id rather run the Mac version…but theres no sign yet from Feral regarding the latest versions avail. Cmon folks, wheres the delay? Is it from the Apple folks, Eidos, Steam, what?
